Crown of Thorns

Isn't this picture beautiful? It came to me in an e-mail from the
Cukierski Family Apostolate. I just love looking at it.

You posted this on the Feast of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. (July 1st)
As you may know our Divine Lord shed blood in the Circumcision, the Agony, the Scourging, the Crowning with throrns and in the Crucifixion. This is offered daily in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on the Altar.

The picture you posted is good and will paint a thousand words. However, some information on the Feast and Devotion to the Precious Blood is needed.

July is dedicated to the Precious Blood. We can make offerings for our country, our families, for the conversion of sinners, to prevent mortal sins and for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, of which we will gain graces and merits.

The Precious Blood is a mystery in itself. Many Catholic Saints wrote on the Precious Blood. Saints like St. Paul,St. Catherine of Siena. God revealed to St Mary Magdalen de Pazzi the practise of offering the Precious Blood to disarm Divine Justice against sinners. She would offer the Precious Blood fifty times for the living and the dead.

Let us offer up the Precious Blood for the conversion of sinners as commended by St. John Vianney.
The Precious Blood has the power to cleanse souls and return them to their pure before God.

Finally, as Catholics we know many are in Purgatory. Our Divine Lord told St. Gertrude that the following prayer would release 1,000 souls each time it is prayed.

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family.Amen"
