"i" Don't Get It

I have made myself an iGoogle page. Chris was the first one to tell me about it. Then Mandy mentioned it as well. Mandy also had a post on it, and when I checked out the link on her post, and the comments on that link, there were nothing but rave reviews for the iGoogle. So, I thought,"I gotta get in on that."

I went out and created my iGoogle page and added lots of gadgets. I guess it is pretty fun when you are faced with all the possible gadgets you can add, but I don't really need another excuse to be on the computer all day long, ignoring my children - which is exactly what the little Tetris game I added did to me. I played Tetris for, like, 2 hours straight, hiding it from my children whenever they walked by, because then they would want to play and I wasn't giving that up.

The feature that got my attention originally was the Google Reader that saved my archives when I accidentally deleted my blog. I am forever grateful to both Chris for e-mailing me my past posts, and Mandy for letting me know about it as well, but to be honest, I don't get it. I went out and subscribed to all my favorite blogs and there they all were. But, I like going to the actual blogs better. I like seeing what's on the sidebars and, I don't know, it seems more natural for lack of a better word. I guess I'm just old school that way. If you can really call it old school since I only discovered blogging at the beginning of this year. Maybe I'm just old. Well, actually, I know I'm old when it comes to technology. I don't even own an iPod. Or anything with "i" in it.

The thing is, the iGoogle and the Google Reader, those are the kinds of things that are really for people who also text message each other, I think. I just don't really get it. Maybe I'll come around eventually. I do like playing the Tetris!

Is This What You Mean?

Well, thank you everyone for all your nice comments and support! I forgot to choose the settings to e-mail me whenever there are comments, so I had no idea you all had been checking in! I appreciate it very much.

A giant shout out goes to Chris over at The Simple and the Ordinary for e-mailing me all of my archives from Google Reader. I have no idea what Google Reader is, but she also e-mailed me some directions, so I will have to check it out. I see that Mandy also pointed me in that direction, so a thank you also goes to her. Maybe I will figure out how to back post archives? I don't know if that's possible. Well, at least I have them!

Now to the real business at hand. The reason for my title. This is referring to a campaign initiated by Father Frank Pavone and the Priests for Life. They are asking everyone to e-mail or write to their local Pro-Choice politicians and ask, "Is this what you mean?" Then, using the words of the abortionists themselves, they actually describe the abortion procedure. It's horrifying. I will share with you some of the quotes and hopefully you will be moved, as I have been, to get involved and join the campaign. Honestly, I cannot believe these people can bring themselves to do what they do, knowing what they know. May God have mercy on them. Here are some the quotes:

First Trimester Suction Abortion

Honestly, being 4 months pregnant, all of this hit a little too close to home for me, so I just couldn't go there. Starting Over

I accidentally deleted my blog. How lame is that? I was trying to change some things in Settings and just kept hitting "okay" without paying attention. I tried getting it back. Blogger has a whole process you go through to request having it reinstated, but I think they're just kidding. I mean, I filled out all of the information, on all of the correct forms, and I didn't even get a confirmation that they received my request. So I went to the Help Group. They were very, very helpful, pointing me in the direction of all the correct forms, but as soon as I began to ask them when I could expect to receive a confirmation or how long the process would take, they stopped answering me as well. So, like I said, I think they are just kidding when they tell you that you can get your archives back. Because, clearly, you can't.

So we are starting over. I'm bummed to lose all of the archives - there were some things in there that even I don't remember where the sources are and that I would like to have back, but what can you do?

It will take me awhile to find the time to set everything up the same way again, but hopefully I will get it all done soon.
